But part of me really wishes it was back home. I get homesick too easily. At least it’s closer than where we’re at now...

I’m with ya. I’ve been feeling incredible nostalgia for Sacramento, where I used to live. But then I tell myself I wasn’t happy there and I feel all better.

I stayed in my hometown because I’m not w big city guy and I wanted to be close to my grandparents (only real family I have left). I don't regret it, although I could be making a ton more money (and actually using my college degree) if I'd moved to a bigger city. Different strokes for different folks. I've always been a small town guy, though.

As shitty as a place that Alabama is becoming, I still miss the fuck out of it. There really is no place like home.
Carolina by Eric Church actually reminds me of home a whole lot as I grew up in a town in the foothills with the Elk River flowing through it. Growing up on family land, this kind of hits home.
South Carolina is alright though, beats the shit out of Florida. Today I was reminded of home while cruising some backroads through cotton fields. It was pretty relieving.

See, I was happy back home except for the shitty women I got mixed up with there. But I’m married now, so that wouldn’t be an issue.

I am too. I don’t fit in with the people up here because I’m not a big city guy. Leaving for college was smart because I met my wife, but I’m ready to go back now...

Maybe I just haven’t been out there enough lately. There’s no corn fields or really anything like home up here in NoVa.

Where are you originally from? I’ve only been through Virginia once, so I can help you there.

I’m originally from Winchester, VA. Its just a little over an hour away, but once you get over the mountains into the Shenandoah valley, Virginia becomes like the rest of the South.

I had no idea you were Serbian!

That’s not too bad of a drive. It’s better than 8 hours.

My house is 10 miles from my childhood home. So I don’t know that feel.
